And...
And if we woke up in another life...
And if everything was different around us...
And if we were born elsewere, in another country, in another family, in another time,
Richer or poorer...
We would have had the same chances, the same dreams, the same desires ?
Our lives run in front of our eyes and often we just watch without reacting.
The important things that are necessary, important and indispensable for us would have the same importance if our starting point was different ?
A dream, a girl, a life and then...
A dream, a girl, an other life !
Wealth, poverty, a place, an other...we all are looking for the same thing :
A smile
Everyone has the right to smile and sometimes happiness is found in the small things in life.
There are themes that we want to address, but which are not easy to face.
Hunger is still a harsh reality today.
We wish to evoke this wound in an unexpected way: through comic strips.
Alain Auderset, a renowned artist from Neuchâtel, will guide us in our theme with his new comic book « Les Vacances de Marcel » (Marcel's Vacation).
A group of young people decide to spend their vacation in an unexpected way.
To have fun of course but with a common goal: to make enough money for a young boy that they saw on television and who...is dying of hunger.
Sketches and drafts produced and drawn onstage live by Alain Auderset, will be projected on a big screen to give the audience the direction of the performance.
10 dancers will dance in the different scenes where they will deal with the difficult and sad theme of hunger with despair, rage, emotion...and sometimes with humor.
From the comic strip « Les Vacances de Marcel » (Marcel's Vacation)
A televison,
A boy,
Hunger,
and...
Blackout.
From the comic strip we will come back to reality, with strong and emotional images provided by the association Compassion, who is supporting our project.
The ballet ends around a campfire, and proposals and words will materialize :
The Company Igokat will sponsor a child with the help of the Compassion Association
